Participated in a Tour of Industrial Waste Disposal Companies

To reduce waste emissions and raise environmental awareness, five employees visited an industrial waste contractor that disposes of fluorescent lamps.
After observing how fluorescent lamps are disposed of and recycled products, an information exchange session on waste materials was held.

As a CSR activity that could be implemented in a non-face-to-face, a "walking activity" was implemented with the goal of having the 39 participants walk at least 126,000 steps per person for three weeks, aiming not only to improve their health but also to curb excessive use of cars and elevators. As a result, they walked 6,989,696 steps. This far exceeded the 39 employees' target of "4,914,000 steps," and contributed to a reduction of approximately 1,181.26 kg (in-house calculation) of CO2 emissions. In addition, 2.31 million won was donated according to the number of steps taken.

Calling it "Zero Garbage Day," a cleanup activity was held on the premises and around our operations as an opportunity for people to think about the impact on the ecosystem and the microplastic problem. A total of 851 participants (including resident companies) collected 5 120-liter trash bags.

We delivered classes on semiconductors to 6th graders and classes on waste-related education to 4th graders at a nearby elementary school. In the semiconductor field, the history, mechanism, and role of semiconductors; in the waste field, education was provided on the garbage problem, Toyomae City's approach to garbage, and the experience of throwing garbage into a packer truck.

Remake workshop in environmental education on waste reduction

As part of Toshiba Semiconductor (Thailand)'s CSR activities for local residents, employees provided environmental education at the nearby Srimahaphot School. This is the first environmental education program of its kind for our history. The environmental education was conducted face-to-face with students at the school, where they learned about our energy conservation and environmental initiatives through lessons on the themes of global warming and waste reduction, including the 3Rs (reuse, reduce, recycle), using video materials as well. The students also participated in a workshop to make eco-bags out of old T-shirts. We will continue to conduct environmental awareness activities and foster relationships with local residents.
