Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (“Toshiba”) has launched three N-channel MOSFET products -“SSM6K818R,” “SSM6K809R,” and “SSM6K810R”- that are suitable for lighting control switches of automotive headlamps and reverse voltage protection, and expanded the lineup.
Products with three different voltages (30 V/60 V/100 V) are lined up to be able to support lighting patterns depending on the number of LEDs connected in series. By using the latest process[1], the products feature industry-leading[2] low On-resistance, helping to reduce the power consumption of devices. SSM6K809R and SSM6K810R are high ESD immunity products.
The TSOP6F package can reduce footprint by about 70 % compared with SOP-8 package, contributing to making equipment smaller.
As the new product will be conformed to AEC-Q101[3], it will be available for automotive application and the others.

LEDs are increasingly used for automotive head lamps, turn lamp, and daytime running lights for demands of lower power consumption, longer service life, and improved safety. As more LEDs are used, lighting equipment shifts from a single to multiple lights with using various lighting patterns. As multiple lights are used, power consumption of each light decreases, which increases the demand for small semi-power MOSFETs[4] like the new products.

Features

  • Reducing power consumption with industry-leading[2] low On-resistance
      RDS(ON)=12.0 mΩ (max) @VGS=4.5 V (SSM6K818R)
  • Reducing footprint with TSOP6F package (footprint is reduced by about 70 % from SOP-8)
  • AEC-Q101 will be qualified[3]
