As the R&D engine of Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corp., the Electronic Devices & Storage Research & Development Center drives progress of both fundamental and advanced semiconductor and HDD technologies.

The Center’s extensive activities range from fundamental technology for IoT security, advanced circuit technology, TCAD (technology computer-aided design), cutting-edge packaging technology to fundamental technology for image recognition & AT and software.

Our mission is threefold: 1) create core technologies to serve as key enablers for tomorrow, 2) pursue advanced development of fundamental and cutting-edge technologies, and 3) directly contribute to product development. Always keeping this mission in mind, the Center is determined to be “a driving force to change the world” by offering semiconductors and HDDs incorporating the fruits of our R&D.

Partnering with Toshiba’s Corporate R&D Center, universities, research institutes and consortia, the Center proactively pursues advances in the automotive field, FA (factory automation), power electronics and other areas of focus, deploying its world-leading technologies to maximum effect.
