Power management mandatory needs for multifunctional devices such as smart speakers. The power supply voltages required for the electronic circuits, sensors, and other components are different in order to realize various functions. To maximize the performance of SoCs, sensors, and other components manufactured through fine processes, attention must also be paid to noise coming from the power line. Generally, PMIC, a dedicated SoC, is used for power management of such devices, but in cases requiring higher-performance power supply than PMIC, it can be solved by using highly functional discrete power management ICs such as LDO regulators and load switch ICs. Toshiba's LDO regulators and load switch ICs provide high-performance power supply as discrete power management ICs. The lineup also includes products capability of reducing power consumption and ultra-small packages, allowing users to select products according to the requirements of the system. Strong power management can be achieved by combining PMIC and discrete power management ICs.

Toshiba's eFuse IC realizes ultra-high-speed short-circuit protection, and has various protection functions such as overcurrent, overvoltage and inrush current suppression in a single package. In addition, since it has IEC62368-1 (G.9) compliance, it is possible to design a protective circuit more simpler and stronger than before.
