Demand for IP surveillance cameras is increasing and they are becoming increasingly intelligent through integration with image analysis systems. With a rich and varied product portfolio, microcontrollers, highly integrated processors, image recognition LSIs, storage devices, and flash memory, Toshiba are meeting diverse needs.

We offer a lineup of microcontrollers for lens control that are ideal for low-power, space-conscious designs. The TX03 series M340 group—TMPM342 and TMPM343—incorporate not only analog circuits to control lenses and systems and to correct optical blur but also motor drivers. The TX03 series M340 group are all-in-one packages that control lens units. The high-performance ARM® Cortex®-M3 Core and the coprocessor PSC in the TX03 series execute high-speed processing and smooth motor control using a built-in high-resolution programmable pulse-generator (PPG) output and a high-resolution microstepping function.

  • In addition to the high-performance ARM® Cortex®-M3, these products have a Toshiba-developed coprocessor PSC as a sub-processor. Distributed processing reduces the CPU loads. Moreover, lowering the operating frequency reduces power consumption.

  • A built-in 7.5-channel H-SW driver with a 7-bit-resolution microstepping function realizes smooth lens control.

Sample Programs and Evaluation Boards

We offer sample programs for motor control, reference circuit diagrams, and an evaluation board corresponding to the type of camera lenses. Users can perform demos and evaluations by connecting their target system to the evaluation board mounted with the microcontroller for lens control. This drastically reduces the development period and thus contributes to quicker time-to-market.

Specifications of the sample program for surveillance cameras
  • This is a sample program for controlling all motors in a lens. Note: An Auto Focus IP is not included.
  • The Application Program Interface (API) enables control from an application. It supports DC-Iris Hall sensors and amp calibration.
