Digital portable devices, small office equipment and toy robots contain small motors and/or actuators. Most of their control circuits operate from a battery supply and thus low power consumption is required. Responding to this need, Toshiba is leveraging its unique manufacturing and circuit technologies to develop next-generation general-purpose motor drivers for sensor and sensorless applications. These devices offer low power consumption, low noise, high speed and high-precision and include brushless DC motor (BLDC) driver ICs, driver ICs for stepper motor control and motor control microcontrollers.
