Programmable logic controller (Programmable Logic Controller: PLC) is used in a wide range of fields, including elevators, traffic lights, vending machines and other familiar equipment, as well as factory automation. Regardless of whether in an enclosure or in a controller, the PLC is mostly installed in the presence of many types of machines/devices. For this reason, it is necessary to reduce the installation space by reducing the size and heat generation, and to ensure reliable and stable operation even in environments where electromagnetic noise and surges are generated due to the operation of surrounding machines and equipment. Toshiba's MOSFETs using new process technology with high heat dissipation packages contribute to create of high-efficiency power supplies and offer performances suitable for equipment power supply circuits and output stages. In addition, Toshiba's photocouplers, TVS diodes (ESD protection diodes), and other high-performance semiconductor products with various protective functions can be used to improve PLC total protection performance.
