Example of Power Management Block

In power management ahead of PMIC which integrated power supply ICs, modules such as flash memory and SSD controllers sometimes require higher power supply performance. Selection of load switches and LDOs for voltage conversion is especially important for low-voltage/high-current power control.

Toshiba's TCR3UG series-LDO regulators feature a wide output-voltage range from 0.8V to 5.0V with low current consumption. In addition, the high-current LDO TCR15AG series uses two power supplies, enabling the output of up to 1.5A at a wide output voltage from 0.6V to 3.6V with low dropout voltage. By using them, it is possible to achieve both a small space and a low power consumption. In addition, Toshiba's load switch ICs and MOSFET, which have protective circuits such as overvoltage protection and overcurrent protection, are used in combination to help improve reliability.

Small size, low-voltage operation, low on-resistance, and low quiescent current contribute to significant downsizing and power saving compared to conventional circuits.
