Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH (“Toshiba”) launches two quad-channel, medium-speed, compact low-power standard digital isolators for industrial equipment and consumer electronics. The new DCL341x0B series supports reliable operation with high common mode transient immunity (CMTI) of 30kV/μs (min.) and medium-speed data transfer of 25Mbps (max.). Applications include programmable logic controllers (PLCs), field equipment, such as sensors and actuators, and I/O interfaces equipped with SPI communication.
The DCL341x0B series uses Toshiba’s proprietary edge transmission method to achieve both low power consumption of 0.18mA per channel and stable data transmission at up to 25Mbps. The two products have three forward and one reverse channel configuration, with the DCL341L0B set to low default output logic and the DCL341H0B set to high.
These products feature a withstanding isolation voltage of 3000Vrms and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C with wide supply voltage range of 2.25V to 5.5V. In addition, the use of a versatile and compact SSOP16 package meets miniaturisation requirements for major industrial applications.
Digital isolators are essential for equipment requiring electrical isolation, ensuring stable communication and control. Reducing system power consumption is a key step toward carbon neutrality. Their low power consumption and compact packaging contribute to energy efficiency and high-density integration in industrial equipment.
Toshiba has already begun mass production of its high-speed standard digital isolators - the DCL54xx01A series, DCL52xx00 series, DCM34xx01 series, and DCM32xx00 series - for industrial and automotive equipment, achieving stable operation with CMT. Together with photocouplers, Toshiba will continue to provide high-quality isolation devices that support stable operation in communication and control of equipment requiring electrical isolation.
