Highly Efficient Use of Water

Extremely large quantities of water are consumed during the manufacture of semiconductors and hard disks, used to dilute chemicals, for cleansing, and for water cooling of equipment, etc. Our corporate group has a particularly high volume of water consumption within the Toshiba Group and we are making proactive efforts to use water well, reuse water, as well as recycle water in our day to day efforts to make efficient use of water resources.

Wafer cleaning equipment constantly supplies pure water in order to keep the water quality high in the equipment tank and piping. We are reducing the amount of pure water used by optimizing the amount of pure water that flows excessively when the equipment is on standby.

Amount of pure water reduction due to this measure: 1,800㎥/Year
