Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation ("Toshiba") has launched its "TLP2304" photocoupler for driving intelligent power modules (IPMs).
The new TLP2304 with open-collector output offers a typical data transmission rate of 1 Mbps. It also supports a wide range of use environment, with power supply voltage range from 4.5 to 30 V and rated maximum operating temperature of 125 °C, making it suitable for driving IPMs. It is housed in a thin and compact 5pin SO6 package with maximum thickness of 2.3 mm, which enables mounting on the back of PCBs and in other height-critical situations, and contributes to equipment downsizing.
Featuring minimum creepage distance of 5 mm and minimum isolation voltage of 3.75 kVrms, the TLP2304 is certified to UL1577, EN60747-5-5 and other international safety standards. This makes it suitable for applications requiring high insulation performance.
