The N300, X300, P300, L200, V300 and S300 Hard Drive Series delivers the capacity and performance needed for today’s consumer storage applications.

Irvine, Calif. — Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC), a committed technology leader, announces capacity expansions, new label, and package branding to the internal hard dirve lineup, expanding the company’s profile in the hard drive space. The capacity updates include the N300 NAS (Network Attached Storage) Hard Drive and X300 Performance Hard Drive in 10TB1 and the L200 Laptop PC Hard Drive in 2TB capacities. Another hard dirve in the lineup offers the P300 Desktop PC Hard Drive with new branding.

The N300 3.5-inch2 internal NAS Hard Drive series, for personal, home office and small business network attached storage application, is now available in 10TB capacity, and features 7200rpm and a large 256MB data buffer, two times the cache as the existing 4TB, 6TB and 8TB models. With support for up to eight drive bays in a multi-RAID NAS3 design, the N300 is highly scalable to the users’ NAS configurations as their data storage needs evolve. The N300 NAS Hard Drive line of high-reliability drives have a high workload rating of up to 180TB/year4 and are optimized for the performance, reliability, endurance and scalability required of NAS environments in which large amounts of data need to be efficiently stored and accessed daily.

The X300 3.5-inch Performance Hard Drive series now comes in 10TB and features Toshiba’s cache technology, optimizing cache allocation during read/write to provide high-level performance in real time. Available in a 3.5-inch form factor, the X300 performs at 7200rpm and an increased cache up to 256MB. The X300 Series delivers extreme performance and robust capacity for creative and professional applications including graphic design, animation, photo and video editing, and PC gaming.

The P300 Desktop PC Hard Drive series are high performance models ideal for home and office users and is available in up to 3TB storage capacity. The model operates at 7,200rpm and built-in shock sensors that detect impact and reduce vibration during read and write operations, improving tracking accuracy and performance.

The L200 Laptop PC Hard Drive series are now available in 2TB and comes in a 2.5-inch mobile drive that provides high capacity upgrade, is shock and vibration-resistant compared to 3.5-inch hard drive and works with every major brand notebook computer, gaming systems and for external storage use. The new 2TB 9.5mm and slim 1TB 7mm models offer an increased cache of 128MB. The L200 lineup has a low power profile compare with 3.5-inch hard dirve, to help optimize the device’s battery life, as well as built-in shock sensor and ramp loading technology for reliability.

“Toshiba is expanding the consumer internal hard dirve lineup with higher capacity and performance specs,” says Michael Cassidy, vice president, Consumer HDDs, Americas, Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. “Additionally, our efforts in refreshing the hard drive label and package design aim to make internal hard drives more consumer friendly and easier to shop for the right application.”

Toshiba continues to expand product offerings with higher storage capacity and performance. The increased capacities for the N300, X300, and L200 hard drive model series further illustrate Toshiba’s efforts to continue offering drives for every consumer storage application from PC, gaming, NAS, and now surveillance and video streaming.

Toshiba’s new category branding will be displayed on both the drive label and retail packaging to clearly communicate each hard dirve category’s use case and device application. The color labeling for each hard dirve is as follows: the N300 in a gold NAS label, X300 in a silver performance label, and both P300 and L200 in a red desktop/laptop PC label.

General availability of these new capacities will start in April 2018. For details about our consumer hard drive storage products, please visit: http://storage.toshiba.com/consumer-hdd. 1Definition of capacity: Toshiba defines a megabyte (MB) as 1,000,000 bytes, a gigabyte (GB) as 1,000,000,000 bytes and a terabyte (TB) as 1,000,000,000,000 bytes. A computer operating system, however, reports storage capacity using powers of two for the definition of 1GB = 230 = 1,073,741,824 bytes and therefore shows less storage capacity. Available storage capacity (including examples of various media files) will vary based on file size, formatting, settings, software and operating system, such as Microsoft Operating System and/or pre-installed software applications, or media content. Actual formatted capacity may vary.
2"3.5-inch" means the form factor of hard drives. They do not indicate drive's physical size.
3As for "Drive Bays Supported", please contact your Solutions Provider because the compatibility with the host device will vary based on the system.
4Workload is a measure of the data throughout of the year, and it is defined as the amount of data written, read or verified by commands from the host system.
