Akihiko Oma
President and CEO
In October of 2017, Mr. Oma assumed the position of president and CEO for Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC). Under his leadership, TAEC will focus on expanding Toshiba’s HDD, discrete semiconductor and system LSI businesses in key application areas such as IoT, in-vehicle systems, data center, automotive, and industrial. As a 35-year Toshiba veteran, Mr. Oma has held a variety of management, planning, marketing, and sales positions, including his prior role of senior vice president of planning and operations at TAEC. During Mr. Oma's six year tenure with Toshiba Electronics Asia, Ltd. in Hong Kong, his responsibilities included supporting the logistical requirements of Toshiba’s laptop business in Japan and managing the intricacies of Toshiba’s international operations for electronic components. He then returned to Japan to manage global planning for Toshiba's semiconductor business, developing the strategy and direction for the company's global sales and marketing teams. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree as a graduate from Waseda University in Japan.
Kyle Yamamoto
Vice President, HDD Business Unit
Kyle Yamamoto is vice president of TAEC’s HDD Business Unit, which includes sales, marketing, customer technical support, planning, logistics, post sales and R&D for Hard Disk Drives covering the entire Americas region and headquartered customers. He joined Toshiba in 2009 and has a combined 26 years storage industry experience. Kyle has held a variety of management, marketing, business operations and planning roles, across both HDDs and SSDs. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Managerial Economics from the University of California at Davis.
Deepak Prakash
Vice President, System LSI Group
Deepak Prakash is the Vice President for TAEC’s Semiconductor Business Unit with engineering, marketing and sales responsibilities for TAEC’s Semiconductor Products. Mr. Prakash joined TAEC in 2002 and has held various Engineering, Marketing, Product Planning and Product Management positions during that time. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology and a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.
Jay Heinecke
Vice President, Semiconductor and Material & Devices Business Units
Mr. Heinecke holds the position of Vice President of TAEC’s Semiconductor and Material & Devices Business Units. A 36-year industry veteran, Mr. Heinecke is responsible for the sales and marketing of Toshiba’s semiconductor products which include: power semiconductors, optoelectronics, microwave, RF, logic, small signal devices, MCU, Digital and Analog ICs, and sensors. The Material & Device products portfolio includes: amorphous cores, ball and roller blanks, scintillators, SiN substrates, thermal print heads, and power magnetron product groups. Mr. Heinecke has held numerous sales, marketing, operational, and product management positions leading up to his current position. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in from the University of Wisconsin, and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School, in Lake Forest, Illinois.
Bill Nutini
Vice President, Business Operations and Sales Support
Bill Nutini is Vice President of Business Operations and Sales Support at Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. He is responsible for various groups including Order Management, Strategic Planning, IT, QA, and TAEC Logistics. He is responsible for all aspects of these groups which are focused on both internal and external support aimed at effectiveness and efficiencies. Bill has been at TAEC for over 32 years during which he served in a variety of capacities, including Vice President of Sales. He began his career in Chicago before relocating to California in 2006. Before joining Toshiba, Bill was employed at Mitsubishi Electronics, America where he held several sales roles. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University of Chicago. Bill currently resides in Laguna Beach, CA where his two passions of his grandkids and ice hockey consume his spare time.
