Why does my HDD label show the word “Reconditioned”?

As of October 1, 2020, Toshiba HDDs with “Reconditioned” printed on the label means the HDD was relabeled at the Toshiba Factory to be compliant with the new UL guide information [UL62368-1 CCN:AZOT2]. HDDs labeled as “Reconditioned” are new, unused products that have no difference in product specifications, reliability, quality, etc. regardless of whether or not it is described as “Reconditioned”.
