Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation announced a new 4-channel high-efficiency linear power amplifier "TCB701FNG," that meets current market requirement for high efficiency.  

With "TCB701FNG," the company has improved on its technology to realize efficiency comparable with a digital high efficiency, class D amplifier in actual operating range (0.5 to 4W). Power consumption is cut by up to 80% of that for a typical class AB amplifier.
 

The new amplifier also includes a self-diagnosis function with I2C bus control that can diagnose errors and contribute to a suitable set design by changing the detection setting for gain or time constants. It also includes full-time error detection of output DC offset voltage, which can quickly detect abnormal output offset voltage and prevent speaker burnout, improving set reliability.

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation announced the launch of "TCB702FNG," an addition to its 4-channel high-efficiency linear power amplifiers that meet current market requirements for high efficiency.  

With "TCB702FNG," Toshiba has improved on its technology to realize efficiency comparable with a digital high efficiency of class D amplifier in actual operating range (0.5 to 4W). Power consumption is cut by up to 80% of that for a typical class AB amplifier. The new IC’s maximum output is 45W, and the IC is pin-compatible with “TCB701FNG,” the company’s high efficiency linear power amplifier with maximum 50W output.

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation has launched a new 4-channel power amplifier for car audio, "TCB503HQ” that delivers strong resistance to power surges.  

Building on Toshiba’s proven development capabilities in ICs for car audio, the new product achieves a higher reliability with an analog fine process resistant to power surges. It also supports 6V operations suitable for vehicles equipped with idling reduction systems, which have become popular in recent years. This feature suppresses popping sounds that occur when power voltage fluctuates.

Other features include a built-in filter to improve resistance to extraneous high-frequency noise, and to prevent generation of abnormal noise even when there is high-frequency noise from mobile phone radio waves and adjustment of door mirrors.

Using the clip detection signal to control the volume and tone control circuit, the sound quality of the set can be improved.

Toshiba Corporation’s Storage & Electronic Devices Solutions Company today announced the launch of the TCB502HQ, a 4-channel power amplifier IC that detects output offset voltage that is a factor in speaker burnout. Mass production is scheduled to start in December 2016.
To respond to growing demand for superior sound quality of car audio, the new IC integrates a current-feedback system of the type adopted in high-end hi-fi audio. This prevents sound quality degradation at wide bandwidths and offers consistent sound quality, considering overtone of musical instruments or human voice.
The new IC also integrates a newly developed, full-time offset detection circuit. It detects offsets generated at the output stage even during playback and contributes to reduction of field failures, thus helping ensure high reliability.

The engine with an idle reduction system is shut down when the vehicle stops, causing the battery voltage to drop instantaneously. The new power amplifier reduces the minimum operation voltage from 8 V to 6 V, and thereby realizes stable amplifier operation, making it possible to prevent sound loss and noise in car audio.
"TCB001HQ" improves noise tolerance with a newly developed filter circuit, and minimizes the influence of cell phone radio waves on the sound. Reinforced protection circuits realize high reliability.
