Automotive SmartMCD™

Toshiba’s SmartMCD™ motor control driver ICs series offer an innovative approach to automotive DC and BLDC motor control by integrating drivers and gate- drivers together with an Arm® Cortex® based microcontroller into a single compact package. SmartMCDs support communication interfaces such as LIN, enabling seamless integration into automotive networks. This high level of integration supports a wide range of automotive applications—from power windows and sunroofs to pumps and fans—delivering reliable, efficient, and scalable motor control solutions.

Software Development Environment

The development environment is composed of tools provided by our company as well as third-party vendors.
It includes an integrated development environment (IDE), a motor control PC tool (Motor Studio), a FLASH programmer, a RAM monitor, motor control reference software, low-level drivers, evaluation boards, and model-based design (MBD) models.
Motor Studio allows users to configure motor control parameters and perform  real-time monitoring via a graphical user interface (GUI).
