The M3H Group(2) is ranked higher than the first phase M3H Group(1). Its products have a maximum of 144-pin package line-up and a built-in maximum of 512 KB Flash ROM.
TOKYO-Toshiba Corporation's (TOKYO: 6502) Storage & Electronic Devices Solutions Company today announced that it has developed a new group of microcontrollers, "M4K group" that allow a single-chip with a low pin-count (32 to 64 pins) to control multiple motors. The M4K group is the second offering in Toshiba's TXZ™ family of high-speed, low power consumption microcontrollers that incorporate the ARM® Cortex®-M core, and sample shipments will start in October, 2016.
As energy saving regulations are gradually tightened and products continue to be miniaturized, demand is increasing for microcontrollers (MCUs) with low pin-count that can efficiently control multiple motors. The new products meet requirements for the motor control systems of home appliances, such as air-conditioners, and are based on the ARM® Cortex®-M4F, which incorporates a floating point processing unit. Integrated features include a high-precision AD convertor with a 0.5 μs conversion speed, high-speed Flash memory with 80 MHz operation, and a co-processor for Toshiba's original vector engine. Together, they ensure the new products realize efficient motor control while improving the power factor and system control.
TOKYO- Toshiba Corporation's (TOKYO: 6502) Storage & Electronic Devices Solutions Company today announced the launch of "M3H Group(1)" microcontrollers based on the ARM Cortex-M3 core, the first product group in the TXZ™ Family, a new family of products fabricated with embedded flash memory process based on the 65nm logic process. Sample shipments of the M3H Group(1) will start in May 2016, and mass production of the first products to be released will start in January next year.
In MFPs and printer applications, a microcontroller needs to communicate with the main control unit and peripherals units, to capture the values from various sensors, and to control a stepping motor or DC motor. The "TMPM036FWFG" incorporates an 8-channel serial interface, 8 channels of 10-bit AD converter, 14 channels of timer, and 2 units of the DMA.
The new devices support various serial interface functions, including USB, SPI and I2C (Fast Mode Plus), and can function as a sensor hub transferring multiple sensor information to a main controller device or PC.
In order to meet market demand for smaller systems, all three devices are housed in small packages: BGA package 5mm x 5mm with 57-pin external connection pins; QFN package 7mm x 7mm with 48-pin external connection pins; and QFP package 10mm x 10mm with 64-pin external connection pins.
High-performance and high-functionality are needed to recent microcontrollers to handle the smart home appliances and home equipment. At the same time, to process the data from sensors or to communicate with peripheral devices, the microcontrollers are asked for preparation of multi-channel correspondence and various serial communication functions.
TMPM381FWFG, TMPM381FWDFG, TMPM383FWUG, TMPM383FWEFG, TMPM383FSUG, and TMPM383FSEFG are tailored these customer needs. They have up to 6 channels serial interfaces for system control, and have up to 18 channels 12-bit AD converter, operating on 5V single power supply.
Users of secure communications control systems increasingly require mass memory data for firmware generation management, failure analysis and high-precision consecutive data storage, as well as such high-level security features as tamper detection and information concealment. The new MCU incorporates a 514-Kbyte SRAM required for secure communications control, four types of security circuits for network communications, and an SLC NAND flash memory controller for memory expansion.
To meet increasingly diversifying market needs in major appliances or industrial appliances, the TMPM470/TMPM475 incorporates the FPU executing single-precision floating-point and the advanced vector engine (A-VE). The A-VE is an enhanced version of the VE, which is well received in the market, by enhancing the non-interfere control function and dead time compensation function to the VE.
