Generally, load switch ICs incorporate a pull-down resistor between the CONTROL and GND terminals so that their internal circuitry remains stable in the event of the CONTROL terminal being open-circuited. Toshiba’s load switch ICs contain a MOSFET instead of a resistor as shown in Figure 1 in order to reduce control pull-down current (ICT). This MOSFET pulls down the CONTROL signal to GND with an almost constant current sink as shown in Figure 2.
