The undervoltage lockout (UVLO) function disables output (VOUT) of a load switch IC when its input voltage (VIN) drops below the predefined threshold so that the undervoltage condition of VIN does not make the internal control circuitry unstable, causing the load switch IC to malfunction. The following table shows the ULVO characteristics of a load switch IC, which has a typical hysteresis of 0.3 V. The UVLO function is tripped to disable VOUT when VIN drops below 2.6 V typical and automatically recovers the IC operation when VIN rises back above 2.9 V typical.
