How can I calculate the operating supply current and power dissipation?

The equations for calculating the operating supply current and power dissipation are shown below:

Operating supply current:
ICC(op)=fIN・CPD・VCC+∑fOUT・CL・VCC+ICC
Power dissipation:
PD=ICC(op)・VCC
If an output drives current, add PD as shown below:
PD=(Vcc-VOH)・IOH+VOL・IOL
List of symbols, units, and items used in the formulae
Symbol Unit Item
ICC(op) A Operation power supply current
fIN Hz Input frequency
CPD F Equivalent internal capacity
VCC V Power supply voltage

∑fOUT

Hz Output frequency
CL F Load capacity
ICC A Static power supply current
PD W Power consumption

For power dissipation, please refer to “PDFダウンロードPrecaution when Designing Circuits: Logic ICs”.
