The same differential pair combination can also transmit signals with reversed positive and negative pairs, regardless of the product's terminal name.
For example, Fig. 1 shows how to connect a 2:1 Mux (multiplexer) /1:2 De-Mux (demultiplexer) type bus switch.
With this type of bus switch, as shown in the figure below, the destination of the An± terminal can be selected from either the Bn± or Cn± terminal, enabling bidirectional communication.
When terminals An± and Bn± are connected, An+ and Bn+ and An- and Bn- are internally connected. Therefore, even if a differential signal whose positive and negative are opposite to the terminal name is input, the path inside the switch will be the same as in normal use as shown in Fig. 1. The positive and negative of the signals output from each terminal are opposite to the terminal name.
