TCD2728DG

TCD2728DG

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation ("Toshiba") has launched a lens reduction type[1] CCD linear image sensor “TCD2728DG” for A3 multifunction printers.
The impact of random noise (NDσ)[2] contained in the signal needs to be reduced to improve image quality.
The TCD2728DG has reduced the output amplifier gain[3] of Toshiba’s existing product TCD2726DG and has achieved approximately 40%[4]  reduction in random noise (NDσ). This improvement enhances the image quality in multifunction The new product features a data rate of 100MHz (50MHz×2ch) with a high-speed CCD linear image sensor.

Notes:
[1] The method of reducing an image with optical lenses and projecting it onto a CCD or CMOS image sensor.
[2] Irregular noise that affects the quality of the image.
[3] A circuit to adjust the amplification of the output signal. Amplification and noise are proportional.
[4] Values measured by Toshiba.

Key Features

  • Reduce random noise approximately 40%
  • High-speed CCD linear image sensor: data rate (max)=100MHz (Master clock fleqency 50MHz×2ch)
  • The built-in timing generator circuit[5] and CCD driver help facilitate system development

Note:
[5] Circuit for generating signals necessary to drive a linear image sensor.

Application

  • A3 multifunction printers, automated optical inspection equipment
