You can use Thermoflagger™ to monitor multiple locations for overtemperature conditions by using multiple PTC thermistors.
The second feature of Thermoflagger™ is the ability to monitor multiple locations for overtemperature conditions.
Multiple locations can easily be monitored with a single instance of Thermoflagger™.
Overtemperature detection thresholds depend solely on the PTC thermistors selected.
Thermoflagger™ indicates normal and overtemperature conditions with logic High and Low states, respectively.
In addition, Thermoflagger™ and all the PTC thermistors can be connected by only one signal trace.
In contrast, when temperature sensor ICs are used, each sensor IC can monitor only one location.
An I2C controller or other peripheral is necessary to program temperature detection thresholds. Temperature sensor ICs monitor temperature and communicate with an MCU via I2C or other communication interface.
As you see, a single instance of Thermoflagger™ suffices to monitor multiple locations for overtemperature conditions.
