In a typical photocoupler for driving power devices, the high-level output voltage drops by several volts from the power supply voltage. However, in the case of a full-swing (Rail to Rail) output compatible product, the output voltage is almost equal to the power supply voltage.
This contributes to reducing the power loss of the photocoupler during switching and to reducing the power loss of the power device.
The output voltage of the full-swing output product is higher than that of the non-full-swing output product, indicating that the voltage drop across the photocoupler is small.
