Multi-bit TVS diodes are useful for sets with multiple-signal lines, such as USB or HDMI®. Packages employing the flow-through pin arrangement as described below can be easily mounted in a layout and can be efficiently patterned and wired. Especially, when high-speed signals are transmitted, differential signals are often used, and it is necessary to adjust the pattern width and length with a pair of (two) signal lines, and the flow-through type is also effective in such a case.
The above pattern is an example of a case where four signal lines are protected. DFN10 examples can be short-circuited between the left and right pins and can be mounted on the same line. DFN5 flow-through is achieved by staggering pins.
