In general, the following measures are considered to reduce the spike voltage called overshoot/undershoot.
- Increasing the width and reducing the length of power and GND traces (or using a multilayer board)
- Adding a bypass capacitor between the power supply and GND pins (as close as possible to the IC)
- Selecting a logic IC series with lower output current capability (Select a product with low output capacity).
- Adding a damping resistor (R = 25 to 100 Ω) in series with the output pin
